For formatting: No booking fee necessary.
For edits only: copy edits, content edits, and audiobook proofing—1 Booking Fee per book per service.
For packages and websites: Half up front. If you have an 80,000-word book for copy edits, your total would be $800. So you would add eight booking fees to pay your half to hold your booking. Or feel free to use the contact page to ask for a custom invoice.
If you want to book more than one service, add one booking fee per service. If you want three books copy edited, add three booking fees to your total. If you want three copy edits, two dev edits, and two audiobooks proofed, you would enter seven.

You purchase this
Either go back to Devon’s chat with your order number OR Wait for Devon to contact you
You’re put on the schedule
On the day of your appointment or anytime before, you send Devon your manuscript.
Devon, within a few hours, will send you a final invoice. This includes this booking fee credited toward your final total if you kept your appointment. A booking fee is to ensure Devon is compensated if a client no-call/no-shows.
If you did not keep your appointment and were a no-call/no-show, this booking fee is forfeit and you will have to pay another booking fee to cover your new appointment.
If you did not keep your appointment but there were extenuating circumstances, Devon may waive the second booking fee and allow you to reschedule for a later date when Devon has availability.
If you text/message/email Devon within 5 days of your appointment, but you will be a few days late, so long as you are within the 8 days (1-7 days are rush jobs. 8+ are generally okay, Devon just has to hustle more than usual), Devon can work with you, or have Devon schedule to their next available date so you can focus on the issue rather than on struggling to get a manuscript in before a cutoff date.
All in all, communication is key. If you run into a snag, let Devon know. You might be able to extend your appointment date. Or if Devon has the time, you can submit chunks at a time. Just note that this is not guaranteed.
If Devon needs to cancel, you will receive your booking fee back in full within 7-45 days.
You pay the final invoice.
Devon edits your book or completes your service.
If you are doing a combo (Dev + Copy, for instance), you would take this time to go through and implement or ignore edits as you deem useful. Then resubmit for the next step.
Devon does the next step.
You look over that next step.
Project is complete once you are happy.
