$15 per 1000 words ($0.015 per word) with a 30,000- 15,000-word minimum. Please round to the nearest 1000.

If your book is 80,000 words, you would purchase 80 of this product. If your book is 79,500, please round up to 80. If it’s 79,499, round down to 79.

This is what content editing normally consists of:

• Noting plot holes

• Hand-bapping for overuse of exposition

• Reality checks

  • Physics is a thing.

• Hand-waving checks

  • Where the situation is tense and, author magic hand-wave, poof, it’s fixed without showing the resolution.

  • Sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn’t.

• Checks for emotions matching the actions

• Random llama checks

  • Things that stick out like a sore thumb, don’t belong, or random appearances of things or people that come out of the ether with no explanation or reason.

• “Where’d it go?” checks

  • The case of the missing dog/best friend/side character/etc.

• Constructive commentary on parts that work exceptionally well, and parts that don’t work at all, and why.

• Ideas on how to fix the issues we found.

• Any checks you specifically ask for (apart from grammar, punctuation and other line/copy editing stuffs)

• A detailed editor’s report

• A week of email support when you start edits after I return my notes and editor’s report to you
